Game Of Thrones stars Richard Madden, Sophie Turner and more on Stark family values

They were effectively our POV characters throughout Season 1, but now mid-way through Season 3 and with the entire clan scattered across Westeros, the only thing that binds House Stark are their values. Game Of Thrones Season 3 stars Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark), Richard Madden (Robb Stark), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Bran Stark) spoke exclusively to SciFiNow about the values they inherited from Ned…

Michelle Fairely: Honour? Very much so. Respect. Caring. I think what’s lovely about them as well in Season 1 is how the dynamic works, it’s quite a chaotic, wild childhood but with really good guides. Those guides are teaching the important lessons in life for the children, which hopefully they will stark to utilise as they find themselves pushed farther into the darkness of the world.

Richard Madden: They’re the only family in Game Of Thrones that is inherently good – it’s built into them. A lot of the other families are a bit more difficult or will go to more extreme lengths to get what they want and do bad things, but I think the Starks are always true to the most noble, honourable path.

Michelle: The father was such a huge influence on the way that they treat people, and his mother does see to her son, ‘Lead by example’. If you’re going to go to war you treat your men… you keep you word, you treat them honourably.

Sophie Turner: I think all the kids take after Ned in the way that they’re all very loyal. I think Sansa definitely takes after her father in the way that she trusts people – Ned trusted people when she shouldn’t have and so did Sansa. I think everyone takes this good, genuine kinda quality from Ned that a lot of the other families don’t have.

Isaac Hempstead-Wirght: Bran, now that he’s the ruler of Winterfell, has been given a chance to exhibit the characteristics of his loyal and noble father, and he’s been able to show his loyalty and his nobility and his trust., and ability to care for others.
